J K Rowling Introduces Life in the Wizarding World Outside Hogwarts
Following on from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Harry, Ron and Hermione finally spend the year outside of Hogwarts allowing them the opportunity to explore the world and take down Voldemort, one Horcrux at a time. Although it is sad that the trio do not return to Hogwarts, the school has taught them all they need and it is finally time for them to face off against the dreaded Dark Lord.
Exploring the world allows Harry to visit his childhood home in Godric Hollow, to return to Gringotts and eventually returns him to Hogwarts for the final pieces of the puzzle. These explorations drive the novel and help give insight into the magic world at large.
The Plot of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Essentially the entire book is preparing Harry for his final showdown with Lord Voldemort (He Who Must Not Be Name). The book marvelously brings together almost every piece of each of the previous six books to make for a compelling final adventure. From house elves to goblin nature, Rowling leaves no stone unturned and ensure that the book is neatly wrapped up with almost no unanswered questions.
While many might argue about the books finale, none can argue that it was not definitive – ensuring that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows would definitely be the final book about Harry Potter’s life and trials. Rowling did not leave her fans without a last few action-packed chapters involving an all out assault on the Hogwarts grounds, which will go down in history alongside the Final Battle for Middle Earth from Lord of the Rings.
The Final Showdown for Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
Rather than focus too much on introducing new characters, the final book features mainly characters from all six books reappearing to either hurt or help Harry Potter. Most of the book, however, focuses on the three protagonists: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, best friends since an unlikely encounter with a troll in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and there adventures throughout the wizarding world.
Conclusion
Many have their own opinions on the ending of the Harry Potter series. The final book was excellent, the series stupendous, the saddest thought is that never again will one be able to venture to the magical world of Hogwarts for more witchcraft and wizardry. Harry Potter will forever rank among the greatest fantasy stories of all time, among the likes of C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia and J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
