I gained a passion for reading and writing at a young age, my mother inculcated in me the value of manipulating English prose into a beautiful symphony of knowledge and creativity. My interests, however, turned towards computer science in High School, where I created my first game, a text-based RPG, in Visual Basic.

My love of reading and writing have never left me, though. After High School I worked as a freelance writer for a video game website and published a comprehensive preview of Big Blue Box's hit RPG "Fable." Once I entered college I worked as a tutor at the Reading and Writing Center, and have also published several short stories and poems in various university publications.

And as for my love of computers, I am attempting to satiate my hunger for knowledge by pursuing a double degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, with a double minor in Information Systems and Information Technology, at Brigham Young-University Hawaii. My scholastic ability is evident through my membership in both Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest and largest collegiate honors society, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the international Honors Society for the Computing and Information Disciplines.

I also work as a Mathematics and Computer Science tutor, and in my spare time I conduct my senior research on 'Analyzing Grain Size from Digital Images of Sediment,' in an attempt to improve edge detection algorithms through the utilization of Java-based image processors. While for my senior honors service project, I am designing a database in MS Access for use in the Math Learning Center to help improve the efficiency of the supervisors.
